Our Domestic Electrical Installer programme is Innovo’s comprehensive pathway into the electrical trade for people with no prior electrical experience. Similar in concept to our Gas Managed Learning Programme, this structured training route takes you through the qualifications you need to begin working as a domestic electrician, from the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations through to practical installation and testing competencies.

The programme is designed to give you both the theoretical knowledge and the hands-on practical skills that employers and registration bodies require. By the end of the programme, you will have the qualifications needed to pursue registration with a competent person scheme such as NAPIT or NICEIC, allowing you to self-certify your domestic electrical work under Part P of the Building Regulations.

The UK has a significant skills shortage in the electrical trades, which means qualified electricians are in strong demand. The qualifications gained through this programme open doors to employment with electrical contractors, housing associations, facilities management companies, and property maintenance firms. Many of our graduates go on to establish their own businesses.

Qualified domestic electricians in Scotland can expect to earn between £30,000 and £45,000 in employed roles, with self-employed electricians often earning significantly more depending on their workload and specialism. Adding further qualifications in areas like EV charger installation, solar PV, and commercial electrical work can increase your earning potential further.
